Coten End Primary School
Week beginning 13 November 2023
It was great to welcome so many parents into school for our two Parents' Evenings. Nearly all parents said how happy their children are at school and love coming everyday. This was amazing to hear. Thank you.
The children continue to be enthralled with Professor Klunk and the Curious Quests and have produced some super writing as a result. This week Professor Klunk asked us to try to use adjectives in our work. We are all enjoying this new way of learning. Subtraction and addition strategies are being embedded in Maths. We have been using the circle method and the number line to work out calculations. The focus in Science has been fish and the children enjoyed handling trout, feeling their scales, locating gills and noticing how tiny but sharp their teeth are. In History the children learned about Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic. We hope she has inspired our children. We continue to discuss on-line safety with the children and how important it is to always speak to a trusted adult before sharing personal information on-line.
Have a happy weekend.
