Coten End Primary School
Week commencing 5.2.24
An extra busy week across school this week - Ofsted came to Coten End! We could not have been more proud of the children during their visit. They worked exceptionally hard, spoke maturely to any questions they were asked by the visitors and demonstrated superb behaviour. During our English lessons, we have started a new unit using instructions. The children have been learning about the story of the Torjan Horse and will be writing their own set of instructions on how to build one. It was Safer Internet Day on Tuesday, and the children took part in a Live Lesson provided by the BBC. On Thursday, we had a visit from Dr Jeremy Rampling as part of Children's Health Week. He is a psychiatrist and spoke to the children about different feelings and emotions that they may have, as well as strategies to cope with them. They also asked Jeremy some excellent questions and really displayed our value of curiosity. To finish the week, 4CK were lucky enough to go to Warwick School to take part in a Science workshop. Mr Etheridge, from Warwick, gave the children the task of having to create a way to protect an egg that was to be dropped from the top storey balcony. The children had some excellent ideas, and after 30 minutes building time, we managed to keep 2 eggs intact!
