Coten End Primary School
Week Begining 14/10/24
We have successfully completed another week in Year 1, and I am thrilled to share how hard the children have been working. Their enthusiasm for learning continues to inspire us all!
In Maths, we delved into the concept of fact families this week, exploring the different number of sentences we can form using the part-whole model. The children have shown remarkable understanding as they manipulated numbers, and it is wonderful to see their confidence growing.
Our Science lessons took an enjoyable turn with an autumn stroll around the school grounds. The children relished the opportunity to observe the changing seasons, gathering various items that reflected the beauty of autumn. They exhibited a keen interest in the natural world, which is always a joy to witness.
In English, we engaged with the delightful book "Bea's Bad Day." This text provided an excellent platform for us to focus on transforming verbs into the past tense. More personally, the children shared their experiences of celebrating their last birthday, allowing them to express their thoughts creatively.
