Coten End Primary School
Week ending 21st April
Welcome back, we hope all had an enjoyable and restful Easter holiday! Our new topic is ‘Land Ahoy!’ and we look forward to sharing our pirate theme with you. The children have been creating their new topic book covers using collage to decorate colourful parrots. In Maths this week we have been learning about equal groups. This will help us with multiplication and division in later stages. In English, we have been using the personal pronoun ‘I’ to write pirate sentences and in Science we have looking at different materials, their properties and specific uses.
We were very lucky on Thursday to have an author, Paula Harrison visit us to talk about her books and the inspiration for her stories. The children asked her lots of interesting questions and were keen to read her books.
