Coten End Primary School
2nd December 2022
We have learned lots of knowledge this week for the Groovy Greeks and developed new skills!
In English, we wrote really impressive myths based on the structure of Theseus and the Minotaur. In our writing, we used lots of fronted adverbials, used speech punctuation and powerful vocabulary.
In Maths, we have learned how to multiply and divide by 10 and 100 and applied our understanding to reasoning and problem solving.
In Science, we learned about the different parts of the digestive system and the functions each part. We learned lots of scientific vocabulary!
In History, we learned about Alexander the Great, the countries he conquered and his empire. We considered whether we thought that he was a villain or a hero!
In PE, we continued practising the three different netball passes and practised how to pivot. We learned how to shoot the ball into the net and then we used the netball passes we have learned and pivot skills to pass towards the net and shoot. We showed excellent co-operation skills.
We all had an amazing time at the Christmas Fair! We played lots of different sorts of games and we won lots of prizes! We enjoyed choosing a gift for someone in our family and wrapped it up too.
In Art, we used the modelling techniques we have been learning about to make our Greek pots. We had lots of fun making them and they look amazing already.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
