Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 2nd October 2023
What an exciting day it was for Year 3 on Thursday! In the morning, Mr Grana came rushing into the hall in a panic as Mr Garlic had found a mystery egg in the playground. Luckily, the Year 3 palaeontologists were on hand to help. They examined the area carefully and found many clues to suggest that we might have a dinosaur on the loose at Coten End: footprints, broken branches and even some dinosaur droppings! The children did some research back in the classroom to try and work out what kind of dinosaur it might be based on the evidence found. The egg has now been sent to the Natural History Museum to see if they can shed some light on our mystery discovery. The children spent the rest of the day learning more about the Mesozoic Era, including making a dinosaur timeline and creating their very own 'mould and cast' fossils.
The fun continued for 3BB this week as it was also their turn to take part in the rocket-making workshop with Mr Etheridge from Warwick School.
