Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 29.1.24
This week we began the week by sharing our Drawing Club Book - 'Man on the Moon' by Simon Bartram. Our vocabulary this week included 'protect, possession and amusing.' The children drew and labelled an astronaut and also the possessions Bob might take to the moon with him. Finally, the children created their own 'amusing alien' using craft materials.
IN PE, we started gymnastics and practised making different shapes. We have learned some more digraphs sh and th and the tricky words, 'she and they.' We learned about the real life astronauts Neil Armstrong, Tim Peake and Helen Sharman. In Maths we have been exploring the numbers 6,7 and 8 and how we can compose them in different ways. We have also been exploring the question, 'Where does light come from?' and making shadow puppets. There's so much more both inside and outside that we've been busy with. Lots of the Reception children also ended the week by going to our after school disco, which was lots of fun.
