We celebrated our Learning Theme 'Blue Planet' today with an artist workshop for the whole year group. Jordanna worked with each class and then collaboratively made an incredible piece of art week that we can all keep.
We have been learning about plastic waste in Geography and so have been busy collecting small pieces of plastic items. We pooled these together across the three classes and sorted them into colours. Jordanna bought each child a tub of silk clay and we learnt how to create different shapes such as spheres and cylinders. Each of made a small octopus using different techniques such as marking.
Jordanna then stuck our clay creatures along with the plastic items to create an incredibly effective piece of art that we get to keep! Watch out in school to where it gets displayed!
It was also great to use our term's school value - Collaboration.
