Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 10th June
This week we have been looking at the book 'Jack and the Incredibly Mean Stalk' by Gemma Cary and Kelly Caswell. It inspired us to write some fantastic sentences in Curious Quests and we practised using question marks and exclamation marks in our writing. In Science, we learnt about what plants need to grow and then planted our own beanstalks in beautifully decorated greenhouses. We can't wait to watch them grow! As part of our PSHE, we have been thinking about lifecycles. After looking at the lifecycle of a frog and a butterfly, the children then thought about how much they have changed since they were born and made lovely concertina books which should have reached you at home! Finally, a real highlight of the week was the Bedtime Story event that was hosted by Stratford Literary Festival. An author called Louie Stowell came to visit and read us a story she had written. The children who attended came in their pyjamas and had the opportunity to share a story that they had written themselves. It was a very well attended event and enjoyed by children and adults alike!
