Greetings to parents and students in Year One, and a warm welcome to our year group blog. We sincerely hope you enjoy perusing it. All the students were eager to go back to school and soon adapted to their new routines. From Reception to Year One, there is a significant shift in learning as it becomes more formalised and structured. This term's subject, "Incredible You," is drawn from Rhys Brisenden and Nathan Reed's book. It gives us a focal point to reflect on how unique each of us is and how wonderful we are all together. Through Drawing Club, which is an extension of Reception's creative writing program, the students have enjoyed writing and creating some amazing work. In mathematics, place value has been the main topic of study in maths, and we were sorting, counting, and one more/one less than a particular number. Our work in science has been based on naming bodily parts. We're looking forward to an amazing week together and hope you have an amazing weekend. The Year One Team
