Coten End Primary School
Week ending 3rd March
It's been Book Week this week at Coten End and we have been so busy doing lots of book related activities! We have had lots of visitors to our school this week to talk to us about World Book Day. On Monday, Mrs Welbourne met with us to talk about the exciting week ahead and Catherine came in to talk about the environment and sustainability. They explained that we were going to be writing some class poems to learn about how to look after our environment.
On Wednesday, we had a poet called Claire in to share some of her own poems with us. She also shared some tips and ideas on how we could get started with our own class poem.
On Thursday, we all had the chance to dress up for World Book Day - even our teachers got dressed up! We came in as our favourite book character. We also held a book swap in school and all had the opportunity to choose a book to take home with us and keep.
On Friday, we had our Poetry Slam and performed our class poems to the rest of Key Stage 1! It was great to share our own poems in front on our friends and hear the others - we really enjoyed it!
