Coten End Primary School
Week Ending Friday 25th October 2024
It has been a long half term for us all, but we have made it! The children have been very enthusiastic and productive with their learning. This week, although short, has included parents' evening, school photographs, our Black History Month learning and lots of learning across the curriculum.
In our lessons, we have been focusing on the book, 'What's In the Witch's Kitchen' and used vocabulary including, 'disgusting, cackle and delicious, not to mention designing Witch's houses and thinking of good places to hide 'Goblin Wee'.
In Maths, our focus has been on shape, in particular circles and triangles, as well as vocabulary to describe position. We have learned 'k, ck, e' and the tricky word 'the' in phonics.
We have practised our hammering skills using golf tees and pumpkins and made some Halloween crafts, while practising cutting, folding and Maths shape skills. We have begun to learn about Diwali and wish everyone a happy Diwali and Happy Halloween as well as wishing you all a relaxing half-term break. We will be excited to welcome everyone back, ready for the exhilarating run-up to Christmas. Thank you for your continued support for all the Reception children.
