Week Begining 04/11/24
We hope you had a delightful half-term break! As we embark on this new term, we are thrilled to introduce an exciting theme: "Explorers of the Wild". This topic promises to inspire curiosity and adventure amongst our young learners.
Recently, we were fortunate enough to meet the illustrious Professor Klunk during his curious quest. Professor Klunk captivated the children with tales of exploration while demonstrating how he utilises our Drawing Club books to fuel his remarkable Dream Machine. It has been wonderful to see the children's imaginations sparked by his stories, and we’re eager for them to explore their own adventures through creative expression.
In our science lessons, we kicked off the term by examining a real fish, where the children were eagerly engaged with its various parts. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the intricate complexities of nature, fostering not only understanding but also a sense of wonder.
In Design and Technology, we explored books containing fascinating mechanisms, particularly focusing on sliders. This exploration helps our young explorers grasp the importance of design and innovation in solving real-world problems.
In mathematics, our focus has been on identifying the missing parts of various equations. Using counters and part-whole models, the children have been actively engaged in this mathematical investigation, reinforcing their understanding of number relationships.
We look forward to a term filled with exploration, discovery, and lots of fun!
