Coten End Primary School

Week Beginning 25th November

What an exciting week we have had in Year 2!

This week in Science we investigated Sci's Big Question - "How can I stop a snowman from melting?". We used ice and wrap it in different materials (plastic, paper, metal and fabric) and left it for an hour. Once the time was up, we look at which ice cube had melted the least. We learnt that this material was therefore the best insulator.

On Thursday we were lucky to have an author visit us. Naomi Joslyn, author of the Molly McDrew series, introduced us to her book Molly McDrew and the Great Fire of London. We had brilliant fun acting out parts in the story and it really helped us with our History knowledge!

In Computing we used the BlueBots for the first time. Last week we designed our mazes and this week we got to test out our algorithm. There were a few mistakes but it gave us a chance to think about how to make it right and next week we will learn more about debugging!
