Coten End Primary School
Week Beginning 20th March
Creativity is the best word to sum up this week in Year 2! The children have loved designing their own dragons in preparation for writing a Dragon Encyclopedia entry in English lessons. They have worked so hard to use as many of the Year 2 writing criteria as they can, such as conjunctions, apostrophes and accurate punctuation. Their vocabulary has been incredible too!
In DT, they had a great time learning about slider and lever mechanisms and made some excellent examples of each one, showing Zog flying through the sky. The creativity continued in Geography, where the children loved designing dragon islands, using a key to label key physical features.
Our visiting dance teacher, Suzanne, was really impressed by all three classes in her dance sessions, in which the children are developing routines and learning actions to represent different types of dragon. What a fun week we have had!
